The first mention of Tusmore is given in a licence to create a park in 1385. Little is known about the manor house which served as the main house though it is known that new formal gardens and avenues were laid out in the 17th century. Of this house only the dovecote remains.

Country Estates. – /. Randle Siddeley was commissioned to redesign a series of formal gardens associated with the main house. The gardens, including parterres, were designed to reflect the character and historic elements of the house. Formal planting of box hedging and Yew balls contain perennials and annuals for seasonal colour, and cascade alongside the restored steps and terraces. The formal Gardens are part way through a major re-design by Tom Stuart-Smith; the tour will focus on this and the vision for the future.
