In 1869, the Nidaros Cathedral Restoration Workshop was created. This work has been going on continuously for over 130 years and continues to this day. Nidaros Cathedral is a cathedral of the Church of Norway located in the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county. It is built over the burial site of King Olav II, who became the patron saint of the nation, and is the traditional location for the consecration of new kings of Norway. It was built over a 230 year period, from 1070 to 1300 when it was substantially completed. Nidaros Cathedral Girls’ Choir was established in 1992 and is based in Nidaros Cathedral, Trondheim, Norway. The choir consists of the Girls’ Group, (ages 10-13) and the Youth Group (ages 14 -19), with a total of 75 members. Their conductor and artistic director is Anita Brevik.
